Hey, you! I'm so glad you're here! My name is Melissa Santell and I'm the creator of FoodxFeels, a blog that connects people with food they'll fall in like with. 

Growing up in an Italian family taught me three things at a very young age: two cheek kisses are better than one, talking with your hands is 100% normal and finally, food tastes better when we're together.

Those values have stayed with me throughout my entire life, and now they've led me to you! Pretty magical, right? 


My culinary career began the moment I insisted on being the first Food Critic at the University of Tampa. It seriously blossomed after an impromptu move to New York City, where I honed my palate at a luxury catering and events company. I've never spent so much time in a walk-in freezer in my life. (Sneaking spoonfuls of peanut butter gelato was a daily reality, but that's a story for another time).

Today, I write and photograph recipes, explore restaurants and give sometimes-too-honest feedback about how food makes me feel. So, if you like to eat, cook and reimagine familiar flavors, you're in the right place.

When I'm not blogging, you can find me in the kitchen recipe testing things like Negroni ice pops for my first cookbook! My friends say I'm perfecting my craft one page at a time. I just feel like I'm eating... pretty much constantly.
